Job Summary

The Solutions Engineer - Cloud will work as a cloud generalist supporting account teams, customers, and go-to-market initiativesThe Solutions Engineer will take a consultative approach and lead discussions with clients regarding cloud requirements, will understand how technology enables business, and recognize new opportunities for the companyThis position is a remote position however may be required to report to the Austin, TX location as required for business needs and as determined by SHI management.

Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to: 

  • Collaborating with account teams to understand the maturity levels of customer cloud environments through review and evaluation of cloud technologies, consumption, implementations, and processes 
  • Designing and proposing cloud solutions that meet customer's business objectives   
  • Collaborating with sales teams to drive the solution, including making recommendations and aligning the next steps for a sale 
  • Strengthening technical relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), strategic and emerging partners, and key cloud partners 
  • Educating sales teams on cloud solution selling and key technologies through 1x1 training, team training, and company training  
  • Conducting product training and positioning for the sales team and customer  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience   
  • Deep knowledge of AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platforms 

Required Skills

  • High capacity to design cloud infrastructure including hybrid cloud, hyper-converged, infrastructure/platform as a service, micro-services, security, IAM, and governance 
  • Ability to work with cloud architecture frameworks such as CSA, Microsoft Azure Reference Architecture, and AWS architecture best practices 
  • Excellent presentation Skills  
  • Must be results-driven with a strong sense of urgency 
  • Attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills are critical

Certifications Required

Will be required to obtain from 12 months from hire date:  

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (preferred to have upon application)   
  • Azure Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (preferred to have upon application)

Preferred Certifications:

The following are not required, however are considered a plus. 

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional  
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty  
  • Microsoft AZ-100, 300, or 500 Series certifications  
  • MCSA – Cloud Platform  
  • MCSE – Cloud Platform and Infrastructure  
  • Google Cloud Platform Architect  
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer in Red Hat OpenStack  
  • Other relevant certifications for public cloud, DevOps, containers, etc.   

Unique Requirements

  • Travel to client locations required up to 30%  

Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
