Job Summary

The Forklift Operator position contributes to the success of the Warehouse operations by accessing storage space that is out of reach for other employees. A typical day as a Forklift Operator consists of stocking inventory in the warehouse rack and bin locations, picking inventory for customer orders, and transporting product throughout the SHI facility by using powered industrial equipment. Forklift Operators work closely with other warehouse employees to ensure products are received, stored, and shipped both safely and efficiently.

 

The role reports to the Nexus Warehouse Management and may assist in other warehouse functions as required.

Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate with receiving team to ensure product is accurately entered in Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Stock palletized products in racks, including upper racks
  • Picking and completing pick tickets generated from orders
  • Kitting of integration orders for both EUC and IDCS departments.
  • Delivering completed orders to staging areas for shipping
  • Maintain a clean and well-organised work environment
  • Assist with inventory transfers by moving palletized products
  • Assist with general warehouse picking and kitting as required.
  • Assist with goods in and goods out functions as required.
  • Ensure all administration tasks are completed efficiently.

Qualifications

  • 1-year Warehouse experience
  • 3 x GCSEs
  • Must have good communication skills (verbal/written).
  • Ability to operate a computer and navigate in a Windows based platform
  • Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment:
    • Reach Forklift
    • Counterbalance
    • Motorised pallet mover
  • Hold a valid Reach and Counterbalance fork truck licence.

  • Valid Reach Truck operators certificate.

Unique Requirements

  • Overtime and weekend work are available, and may be required throughout the year
  • This position is expected to frequently bend, lift, walk and stand for extended periods of time
