Azure Solutions Architect

The IT Solutions Architect will be a key strategic member of the IT Department, focusing on leveraging industry knowledge and best practices to design and develop cloud-based solutions and systems. This role acts as a consultative partner to internal stakeholders, aligning their goals and strategies with effective business solutions. In this position, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and architect solutions, understanding their goals and strategies and mapping solutions to business outcomes.  The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in the Microsoft Azure, M365, Microsoft Power Platforms and a comprehensive understanding of business processes, enabling them to design, develop, and implement innovative e-commerce solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering high-quality, scalable, and maintainable cloud solutions, thereby enhancing our operational efficiency and driving technological advancement.

This position must report to the SHI Austin, TX, or SHI Somerset, NJ, office location as determined by SHI management.

Include, but not limited to: 

• Define end-to-end architecture for M365/Power Platform, Azure IaaS/ PaaS, and SaaS applications.
• Guide development teams on best practices for DevSecOps, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines
• Design scalable, secure, stable, and composable architectures using Azure cloud technologies supporting fast-paced development cycles.
• Analyze current business processes and make recommendations for improvement based on industry trends and professional business knowledge.
• Develop cross-functional strategies and solutions that align with business objectives.
• Translate business and technical objectives into prioritized, phased solutions.
• Validate infrastructure as code (Terraform, PowerShell) and API integrations
• Ensure alignment with enterprise security, governance, and accessibility standards
• Oversee and facilitate the evaluation and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards.
• Provide technology/architecture recommendations based on business relevance, appropriate timing, and deployment.
• Ensure the portfolio is current by driving the retirement of legacy solutions/technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver eCommerce solutions, including developers, designers, project managers, cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and communicate technical concepts to non- technical stakeholders.
• Oversee the integration of platforms, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Contribute to the design of operational processes, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and compliance with policies and security requirements.
• Stay current with new technologies and frameworks and recommend adopting new partners or solution components.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or relevant work experience required
• 10+ years of experience in Software Development, Solutions Architecture, Solutions Engineering, or Business Systems Analysis
• 5+ years of experience with Application Development and Modernization  

• Deep and demonstrable understanding of cloud platforms, their core services. Ability to define end-to-end architecture for M365/Power Platform, Azure PaaS, SaaS and IaaS applications
• Significant experience architecting and implementing infrastructure solutions with a strong emphasis on scalability, reliability, and security.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Core Development Skills: Python, SQL, JSON, REST API, Power BI, Power Platform, GitHub (including Actions), Jenkins, Jira, Confluence.
• Design and support multi-tier applications and cloud-based architectures.
• Expertise in diagramming tools (Visio/LucidChart).
• Ability to analyze requirements, recommend technical solutions and write technical specifications.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proven ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
• Ability to efficiently work with executives and internal stakeholders.
• Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures.
• Project management and leadership skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to translate goals and strategies into business solutions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools and automation frameworks.

Travel as needed based on business needs and determined by SHI management.

• The estimated annual pay range for this position is $130,000 - $200,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual
