Job Summary

The Warehouse Operations Manager oversees a group of Team Managers, Supervisors and Warehouse Associates by serving as a point of escalation and overseeing the team’s daily operations.  The manager will act as a liaison between the Sales and the Warehouse departments by delegating work to appropriate staff based on the needs of our customers. This position reports directly to the Sr. Warehouse Manager. 

This position is required to report to the SHI Piscataway NJ office location as determined by SHI management.

Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to:

  • Manage the receiving process for the Date Center Factory (DCF)
  • Manage the put-away process for inventory at the DCF
  • Manage small parcel receiving (FedEx/UPS/DHL) and LTL receiving (Freight) at the DCF
  • Manage scheduling LTL Deliveries at the DCF
  • Manage the order printing process and delegation of workload at the DCF
  • Manage the picking process for the DCF to ensure orders are picked in a timely manner and staged correctly
  • Delegate daily shipping-related requests/tasks to team members at the DCF 
  • Manage the processes of the shipping and picking departments on the weekend by ensuring systems and tools are up to date and the workload is being delegated appropriately
  • Utilize company reports to determine workload scheduling and to evaluate employee performance
  • Enforce policy and procedure with staff and follow up with disciplinary action when required
  • Act as a liaison between the team and senior management, providing updates on progress to ensure that all picking and shipping-related tasks are prioritized
  • Complete employee performance evaluations, address personnel issues and manage shifts
  • Conduct research to determine the root cause of any item discrepancies, such as lost or missing products
  • Assist Senior Leadership in interviewing, hiring decisions, and employee terminations
  • Inventory replenishment for floor order picking

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ Warehouse experience
  • Minimum 2-4 years Leadership experience
  • Must be able to communicate (verbal/written) in English

Required Skills

  • Ability to operate a computer and navigate in a Windows based platform
  • Strong understanding of SHI Integration Center Processes, Policies, and Procedures
  • Management/leadership skills 
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast pace environment while meeting all deadlines 
  • Ability to assist in hiring decisions and pick quality candidates

Preferred Qualifications/Skills: 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX
  • Hazmat certified 

Unique Requirements

  • Overtime and weekend work are available, and may be required throughout the year 
  • This position is expected to frequently bend, lift, walk and stand for extended periods of time 
  • Position requires the ability to move or lift up to 50lbs 

Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $50,000 - $100,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
