Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Jr. Business Operations Intern to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in supporting the operational efficiency and effectiveness of our organization. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience by contributing to a variety of key projects, including Budget Consolidation & Reporting, Website Redesign & Graphic Design Refresh, and Process Documentation. You will work closely with our finance and operations teams, enhancing financial reporting processes and supporting budget consolidation efforts. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work across various departments, develop a diverse skill set, and make a meaningful impact within our organization. The ideal candidate will be proactive, eager to learn, and ready to engage with the intricacies of business operations.

 

This position will report to the Austin, TX or Somerset, NJ office location.

Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to

  • Assist in the collection and consolidation of departmental budgets to create a comprehensive organizational budget.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to prepare and analyze financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the development and implementation of budget reporting tools and templates to streamline processes.
  • Identify variances between budgeted and actual expenditures, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
  • Participate in meetings with various departments to understand their budgetary needs and provide support as required.
  • Contribute to the preparation of presentations and reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update financial databases and spreadsheets for accurate record-keeping.
  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.
  • Develop and implement operational processes and procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Support data collection and analysis efforts to inform business decisions and strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and optimize workflows.
  • Participate in the preparation and review of operational reports and presentations.
  • Contribute to project management activities, including planning, execution, and monitoring of progress.
  • Document business processes and create process maps and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Provide support for inventory management, procurement, and supply chain activities as needed.
  • Coordinate internal meetings and events, ensuring effective communication and follow-up on action items.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in good academic standing working towards a bachelor’s degree.

Required Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting and financial principles.
  • Familiarity with graphic design software
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose problems
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to take direction and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work both individually and in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, time-management, and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to define, execute, and follow up on deadlines and goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • General understanding of business operations and processes is a plus.

Unique Requirements

  • The intern selected will be required to work 29 hours a week over a specified 12-week duration.  

Additional Information

  • The hourly pay range for this position is $18.00/Hr.
