Job Summary

The Technical Product Owner is a pivotal role focused on bridging the gap between business objectives and technical execution. This position requires close collaboration with Product Managers, Leadership, and Business Stakeholders to understand and translate business goals into actionable tasks for the engineering delivery team. The Technical Product Owner will act as a liaison to ensure alignment, advocate for minimal viable solutions that advance business objectives, and challenge unnecessary work that doesn't align with these objectives.

 

This position is required to report to the SHI Austin, TX office location as determined by SHI management.

Responsibilities

Include but not limited to:

 

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Leadership, and Business Stakeholders to clearly understand business objectives and priorities.
  • Translate business goals into detailed work items and user stories with clear acceptance criteria for the engineering team.
  • Act as a liaison between Product Managers and the engineering delivery team, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project requirements.
  • Advocate for minimal viable solutions that align with business objectives, pushing back on over-engineering or misaligned initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive and prioritized backlog, leveraging Agile principles and best practices.
  • Facilitate design discussions, advising the tech team on choices that impact business and customer requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate releases and upgrades, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
  • Monitor progress during sprints, addressing any production issues that arise.
  • Refine Agile methodologies based on results and feedback, continuously improving the process.
  • Conduct or plan testing, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), as needed, and document outcomes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years experience as a Product Owner or similar role in Product Management.
  • 3+ years experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of product owner disciplines, methodologies, best practices, and tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, software development, networking infrastructure, data, and/or security.
  • Results-oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently to deliver results.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment and collaborate effectively as a team member.

Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
