Job Summary

The Marketing Events Specialist purpose is to plan and assist with various company office and field events.  The Marketing Events Specialist position will work with the events team on large and small events and will proactively work to develop, maintain and foster client, partner and vendor relationships while planning marketing events. The Specialist will be focused on creation, coordination and planning logistics of hosted events while collaborating with the Events team to ensure a successful event.   The Marketing Events Specialist reports to the Manager of Marketing Events or the Director of Marketing Events.  This position is required to report to the SHI Somerset NJ office location as determined by SHI management.

Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with various event partners (internal and external) on event details, plan logistics, and summarize event details back to partner for transparency and accuracy
  • Research venues to determine availability and feasibility for future marketing events
  • Negotiate and execute contracts with caterers, hotels, sporting, recreation venues, AV, transportation, and promotional item suppliers
  • Design memorable events as they are assigned, collaborate with team members on larger events, and come up with new creative event concepts to be approved by management
  • Strategically plan and execute logistics on all assigned events working with a team as well as solo working on smaller events
  • Solve issues, communicate needs to venue and team, and create synergy for marketing events
  • Track event budgets and reconcile financials
  • Monitor and maintain promotional items for customer drop-offs and specific events including research, selection, ordering, and distribution of items

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must possess a minimum of 2 years events experience
  • Experienced in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, & Canva.

Unique Requirements

  • Local and National Travel required 10-20%
  • Extended hours and weekends required for some events

Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $40,000 - $70,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
