    Job Summary

    The Inventory Advisor is a key factor in the success of the warehouse. This high paced role helps to organize tasks, and resolve issues around the maintenance of an accurate physical inventory.

    As an Inventory Advisor, you are responsible for the safe and timely shipping, distribution, storing, packaging and otherwise transporting of inventory.


    This position is required to report to the SHI Piscataway location.

    Responsibilities/Job Function


    The Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Use moving equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to safely and efficient move inventory around the warehouse and shipping facility.
    • Perform periodic inventory checks to ensure the accuracy of database information and minimize the risk of inventory issues
    • Assist in cycle counts and inventory verification
    • Resolve picking and receiving errors to ensure inventory accuracy
    • Conduct research to determine root cause of any discrepancies
    • Assist in necessary inventory transactions such as removals, re-labeling and transfers
    • Work with accounting and other departments to research and resolve discrepancies

    Qualifications/Minimum Skills Required

    • 5+ years of experience in the Logistics field
    • At least 2 years of experience in a warehouse setting
    • Strong experience with inventory software and control systems
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Familiar with warehouse locations and procedures
    • Works well as part of a team and well independently
    • Able to oversee a team of inventory advisors
    • Shows initiative
    • Able to complete detailed work with little to no errors
    • Able to work in a fast paced environment
    • Ability to review transactions and resolve part issues independently
    • Can operate industrial power equipment
    • Takes criticism well

    Preferred Skills:

    • Forklift Certification
    • Warehouse and Inventory experience
