    Job Summary

    SHI has an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer – F5 on our IT Networking and Telecommunications team. This team is responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining data and telecommunications networks and systems for SHI’s internal operations.

     

    We are seeking an F5 Engineer capable of assuming primary administrative ownership of our F5 BIG-IP platforms including LTM, GTM, and APM. They will be the primary engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our F5 BIG-IP systems in our datacenters.   Additional duties will include firewall and router configuration, maintenance, and support.

     

    The candidate will have at least 3 years of experience with F5 BIG-IP LTM and GTM/DNS and have achieved the F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator certification.  The position requires a good overall network background with an understanding of routing and switching protocols as well as application layer protocols. Strong organizational, communication, and troubleshooting skills are crucial for the position.

     This position is required to report to SHI 290 office.

    Responsibilities/Job Function

    Include but are not limited to:

    • Design and implement F5 BIG-IP systems for high availability
    • Work with internal teams to gather detailed technical requirements for F5 configurations
    • Configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of F5 BIG-IP LTMs
    • Configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of F5 BIG-IP DNS (GTM)
    • Configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of F5 BIG-IP APM (Access Policy Manager)
    • Track and evaluate F5 security alerts.
    • Update F5 BIG-IP software, hardware, or configurations to address known vulnerabilities
    • Plan and execute software upgrades of F5 BIG-IP systems
    • Monitor and respond to critical alerts including after hours
    • Create and maintain network and application level documentation of F5 BIG-IP environment
    • Network firewall and router configuration and support

    Qualifications/Minimum Skills Required

    • 3+ years of working experience configuring and maintaining F5 BIG-IP LTM and GTM/DNS
    • Excellent teamwork and organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to handle and lead multiple tasks
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to follow a structured methodology to solve problems
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Good overall network background with an understanding of routing & switching protocols as well as application layer protocols
    • Good understanding of network firewall operation and configuration
    • Completed 4 year college degree

    Well qualified candidates will possess:

    • F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator certification
    • Experience configuring network firewalls
    • Experience configuring Cisco routers
