    Job Summary

    SHI International Corporation has an opportunity in our Enterprise Division as an Integration Data Center Services Manager. We are looking for a successful, driven individual, with the ability to manage complex challenges related to the Integration practice, has excellent problem solving skills, works well under pressure and possesses strong leadership skills. The IDCS Manager will act as backup to the 1st shift Data Center Services manager and work 2nd shift.

     

    The IDCS Manager is responsible for leading the Data Center teams which include technical specialists, automation/scripting developers, network, quality control, data center management and lead technicians. The IDCS Manager will interface with external customers and will participate in enhancing the customer service offering through customer meetings, working with technical staff and partners to optimize the configuration and gain efficiencies in the build process. The IDCS Manager will guide the technical teams on a daily basis and lead successful build deployments to final product delivery. The IDCS Manager will attend internal meetings and manage the day to day operations of the build team leaders.

     

    The hours for this position are 1 p.m. to 10 p.m and this position is required to report to the SHI Piscataway office.

    Responsibilities/Job Function

    Include but not limited to:

    • Meet with leadership teams, including project management, quality control, technical specialists, client services delivery, automation/scripting developers and build team to address current challenges and set direction on a daily basis.
    • Attend external customer calls and meetings to review current status and address any obstacles.
    • Attend vendor / partner calls to review configuration challenges and updates.
    • Attend internal meetings with sales and review current pipeline and projected volumes.
    • Work with cross functional internal teams (Warehouse / Config / Inside Sales / Operations) to confirm that all builds can move forward in targeted delivery time frames and address any challenges.
    • Assemble appropriate teams and data to respond to customer escalations.
    • Monitor correspondence from leadership teams to the customer and offer guidance that supports professional problem closure.
    • Support the growing organization through teaching, mentorship and appropriate problem solving techniques.
    • Assign appropriate resources to the tasks at hand.
    • Confirm that the project management team has the appropriate resources and support management of the “Incoming” alias and workload.
    • Confirm that the Solution Architect Team is able to manage the number of new incoming BOM and Build requests and that they have identified any BOM discrepancies that could result in an incorrect build.
    • Confirm that the build team has adequate resources (people), space and power to complete their builds. Address fluctuations in demand through any creative strategy that can balance multiple builds that will need to run in parallel.
    • Work with Technical Managers to streamline build processes, as well as manual and automated hardware verification for all projects.
    • Confirm that the SAS team has responded to escalations and that on-site work is scheduled per customer requests.
    • Manage overtime.
    • Review ISO task instruction documents for designated teams.
    • Complete handoff from 1st shift IDCS Manager and continue to move work stream through 2nd shift.

    Qualifications/Minimum Skills Required

    Minimum of 2-3 Years of experience required in the following areas:

    • Experience in the Integration Data Center Services organization.
    • Leadership Experience, including managing a diverse workforce.
    • Ability to interface with customers and to process and explain technical detail.
    • Ability to work under tight time constraints and meet strict deadlines, while interfacing with high pressure individuals and situations.
    • Technical problem solving skills.
    • Ability to decipher automation / scripting detail, as presented from the SQL team and dev/ops team.
    • Ability to get diverse teams to work together to achieve a common goal.

    Minimum of 1-2 years of experience required in the following areas:

    • Ability to communicate and decipher responses from multiple hardware vendors / partners including but not limited to Lenovo, IBM, HP, Dell, FireEye, Fugitsu, Hitachi and Acme Packet.
    • Ability to communicate with and decipher technical lead explanations as related to firmware upgrades, network settings, and custom settings as required by customer across multiple vendor hardware.
    • Ability to work with several teams and manage multiple rack integration projects that are running simultaneously.
    • Ability to review technical documentation, including VISIO diagrams and be able to transfer that logical information into a physical build.

    Minimum of 1 year of experience required in the following areas:

    • Ability to review/decipher SQL output and enhance reporting processes.
    • Ability to identify process enhancements in the build / quality control / hardware verification processes.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Advanced knowledge of SHI Tools and applications as they relate to the IDCS Department
    • Experience in the Integration Data Center Services organization.
    • Leadership Experience, including managing a diverse workforce.
    • People problem skills.
    • Ability to get diverse teams to work together to achieve a common goal.
    • Ability to work under pressure, and still remain level-headed and professional.
