    Job Summary

    SHI has an exciting opportunity available as a Warehouse Operations Manager at the Ridge Integration Center. The Warehouse Operations Manager will oversee the Inventory, Receiving and Picking departments at our Ridge facility.  This individual will also ensure that Integration Center projects meet all our customer expectations and are executed in accordance with SHI quality standards.  This fast paced role acts as the mentor for the employees that reports to this individual and works with the staff on workload and problem resolution, as well as acting as a liaison to the Warehouse Manager to provide information about current issues and problems that may occur. The Warehouse Operations Manager also helps review current processes and procedures to identify areas in which efficiency can be increased.

     

    This position is required to report to the SHI Piscataway office.

    Responsibilities/Job Function

    Include, but are not limited to:

    • Performs full range of managerial duties for employees supervised including coaching/counseling, hiring, terminating, and employee development.
    • Manage Inventory, Receiving and Picking departments
    • Manage the receiving process for the Integration Center.
    • Manage the put-away process for inventory
    • Manage the order printing process and delegation of workload
    • Manage the picking process for the Integration Center to ensure orders are picked in a timely manner and staged correctly
    • Manage small parcel receiving (FedEx/UPS/DHL)
    • Manage LTL receiving.
    • Manage HAZMAT procedures & policies for receiving (Battery)
    • Supplies ordering for receiving & picking department.
    • ISO quality program management for receiving department.
    • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers.
    • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
    • Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
    • Maintains Receiving & Picking staff’s job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
    • Conduct annual performance reviews of supervisors and provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance.
    • Enforce policy and procedure with staff, and follow up with disciplinary action when required.
    • Communicate effectively with other managers outside of the Integration Center to ensure coordination of other functions such as special, inventory management and quality assurance.
    • Communicate effectively with other managers in the Integration Center to ensure coordination of other warehouse activities.
    • Yearend inventories
    • Review discrepancies
    • Review video with security when product is found missing
    • Work with AX team on WMS design/implementation/Improvements
    • Work on improving the speed, efficiency and turnaround time on all warehouse functions (receiving, put-away, picking, shipping) via the WMS
    • Work closely with all warehouse teams, configuration, returns, ICO, IT
    • Manage new WMS projects/enhancement roll outs
    • WMS training on new enhancements and tools
    • Coordinate projects with ICO Team
    • Work closely with ICO team on scoping new projects for the Integration Center
    • Update task instructions
    • Participate in audits
    • Warehouse Job Postings
    • Warehouse Bonus Calculations
    • Provide coverage for Warehouse and Shipping Managers as required

    Qualifications/Minimum Skills Required

    • Minimum of 3-5 Years of warehouse experience
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of management/leadership experience
    • Proven ability to be an excellent leader
    • Possess excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)
    • Possess excellent organizational skills
    • Possesses professional demeanor and previous client-management experience
    • Ability to direct and motivate others
    • Possess good problem solving/troubleshooting skills
    • Ability to work and succeed in a team-oriented environment
    • Possess proven ability to multi-task and set priorities
    • Ability to pay attention to details
    • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment to meet customer deadlines.
    • Possess working experience with Microsoft Excel
    • Experience with a warehouse management system.
    • Proven ability to make business decisions based on customers’ needs
    • Proven ability to manage and launch initiatives, on a department wide basis, and hit deadlines
    • Proven ability to motivate, lead and mentor
    • Experience with UPS, FedEx, DHL and 3rd party deliveries.
    • Experience with LTL shipping companies.

    Preferred Skills/qualifications:

    • Advanced knowledge of Warehouse Management system
    • Advanced knowledge of warehouse procedures
    • Advanced knowledge of Receiving, put-away, picking/staging process
    • Advanced knowledge of SHI Tools and applications as they relate to the Warehouse
    • Ability to operate industrial power equipment
    • Associates Degree -- 2 Year
    • Thorough understanding of SHI’s strategy and core competencies
    • Presentation and project management skills
    • 3 – 5 years inventory experience
