    Job Summary

    We are looking for a Cisco Presales Technical Specialist to support SHI’s overall Cisco business. This position does not require any previous Cisco or technical experience however, the right candidate must possess a strong desire to learn and the ability to obtain Cisco Technical Certifications within their first year.


    This position is required to report to the SHI Somerset, NJ office location. 

    Responsibilities/Job Function

    Include but are not limited to:

    • Support basic Cisco architecture requests
    • Monitor and support the team alias for new inquiries from Sales
    • Create Cisco Estimates
    • Create competitive OEM configuration flips
    • Advise sales and customers on partner best practices and industry trends
    • Support pricing programs to ensure SHI is quoting correctly
    • Develop a working knowledge of IT infrastructure and attain required certifications to meet any partner program/competency requirements
    • Act as liaison between SHI and our partners
    • Provide excellent support to both customers and the SHI global sales organization
    • Work as part of a team to support SHI’s partner support requirements
    • Continuous Learning as required for personal and company Certifications
    • Participation in SHI & Partner workshops & conferences
    • Occasional travel to trainings, partner events, etc, based on needs of the team and SHI management

    Qualifications/Minimum Skills Required


    • General knowledge of IT infrastructure required
    • A proactive “can-do” attitude
    • Excellent communication (verbal and written)
    • Excellent presentation skills
    • Excellent organization and time management skills
    • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
    • A desire to learn and expand current knowledge base
    • Attention to detail, with the ability to anticipate questions when providing responses via phone or email
    • Willingness to adapt to changing business and support priorities
    • Being a flexible, dependable, self-starter that is capable of learning new technologies and products quickly
    • Ability to obtain certifications as required by SHI management/needs of role
    • 4 year Bachelor's degree and minimum 1 year in an Inside Sales, Outside Sales and/or Partner or Vendor support position or 4 year Bachelor's degree in a technical field
    • Ability to travel (minimally) as needed by SHI management

    Preferred Skills:

    • Familiarity with Cisco (CCW, CCW-R, SalesConnect, dCloud, etc.)
    • An existing CCENT (100-105) preferred
